Ronald Brown, 69, of Rutledge, died January 22, 2009. He was born in Morgan County on May 14, 1939 to the late Samuel “Doll” Tribble Brown and the late Mary Elizabeth Brown.

Retha Nell Briscoe Hendrix

Retha Nell Briscoe Hendrix, 78, of Tulsa, Okla., slipped away peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 21, 2009. Mrs. Hendrix, the daughter of R. S. Briscoe and Josephine Jones Briscoe, lived in Monticello and Madison before the family moved to Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by both her parents and her husband, Walter Hendrix.

David L. “Red” Hitchcock Jr.

David L. “Red” Hitchcock Jr., 83, of Winder died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 after a battle with cancer. He was the son of the late David L. and Maude Hays Hitchcock.

Curtis McDuffie

Curtis McDuffie, 42, of Madison, died January 19, 2009 in Langhorne, Penn. He was born in New York and was the son of the late Ruth Rodgers and Robert McDuffie.
