• On August 12 a counterfeit complaint was filed at an Eatonton Road department store after a woman reported that a man had attempted to purchase $8 worth of items with a fake $100 bill. The woman said she advised the man that the bill was fake and the man asked for the bill back. The woman declined to return the bill, reports state, and the man allegedly told her he would go to his vehicle and get the $8 and return. The man then fled the scene.
• On August 10 a larceny complaint was filed at an Academy Street location after a woman reported that someone had entered her property and removed an aluminum extension ladder. The woman said the ladder had blue painter’s tape wrapped around both legs of the ladder.
• On August 11 Angela Lynn Morgan, 43, Newborn, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass after she allegedly returned to the parking lot of an Eatonton Road truck stop after being warned on at least two occasions not to enter the truck stop parking lot. According to reports, officers were told that Morgan was allegedly soliciting drivers in the parking lot. Officers located Morgan near the truck scales on the parking lot of the truck stop.
• On August 9 a damage to property complaint was filed at a Micha Way location after a man reported that someone had shattered the rear glass of his green 1999 Ford pickup truck. Reports state that the glass appeared to be bowing outward and the majority of the glass was in the bed of the pickup truck.

• On August 6 a simple assault complaint was filed at a Larkmartin Street after a man reported that his step-brother came to his house and threatened him with a bat. The step-brother said he had driven to the man’s house to check on his brother who is a registered sex offender, and when he arrived the complainant attacked him while he was in his vehicle. The complainant said that the step-brother struck his vehicle with a bat and slapped him. The step-brother said that the complainant punched him in the face while he was in his vehicle.
• On August 8 a damage to property complaint was filed at the parking lot of Wal-Mart after a woman reported that someone had broken a side mirror to the rental car she was driving. Officers reviewed a tape of the parking lot and determined that a male had walked past the car with shopping bags and struck the mirror.
• On August 5 a burglary complaint was filed at a Foster Street location after a man reported that someone had entered a detached garage on his property and removed a hand held sprayer, a back pack sprayer, a walk behind edger, a weed eater, a Husquvarna metal blade weed eater, and an Echo Blower. Total value of the items is $1,500.
• On August 1 a damage to property complaint was filed at a Fairground Road location after a man reported that someone had ransacked his office. The complainant said nothing was reported missing but items were thrown around the office.
• On August 3 a damage to property complaint was filed at a Bramblewood Drive location after a woman reported that someone had spray-painted the letter “E” on the hood of her 2009 Toyota Camry.

• On August 1 Garai Rashidi Charlton, 32, Stone Mountain, was arrested and charged with fleeing and attempting to elude and reckless driving after an officer attempted to urge Charlton to return to his Stone Mountain home from Madison. According to reports, an officer was called to the Waffle House on the report of a suspicious person. When he arrived he was told that Charlton had been sitting at the table for nearly an hour, staring forward and not eating his meal. The officer was told by another officer that Charlton matched the description of a person who had allegedly been causing problems with customers at other interstate businesses. The officer asked Charlton if he was willing to leave and Charlton complied, reports state. The officer took Charlton to a motel and helped him jump-start his vehicle. The officer gave Charlton directions to the interstate and was attempting to lead him to the interstate when Charlton instead continued north on U.S. 441. Charlton was stopped again and said that he had decided to go to Lithonia, instead. The officer again offered to escort Charlton to the interstate. This time Charlton allegedly stopped in the middle of the by-pass. The officer attempted to make another traffic stop and Charlton allegedly stopped in the middle of the by-pass heading north. The officer motioned for Charlton to merge to the side of the road, reports state, and Charlton allegedly drove away. Reports state he ran the red light at the intersection of the by-pass and the Old Buckhead Road. A Morgan County Sheriff’s Office deputy deployed stop sticks and Charlton struck the stop sticks and his tires shredded. He was then removed from the vehicle and arrested.

• On July 26 Brenda Puntervold, 52, Madison was arrested and charged with criminal trespass after she allegedly cut the tire of a woman’s vehicle in a motel parking lot. According to police Puntervold had called police and reported that the woman was having sex with men in the room in front of her child. Officers arrived and spoke with the woman who was in the room with a nephew and an infant. Puntervold was attempting to take the infant but authorities did not find anyone else in the room and did not find any illegal activity in the room. Reports state that when Puntervold was told to leave she stopped by the woman’s vehicle and allegedly cut a tire. An officer observed the act, reports state. Puntervold told police she cut the tire because police refused to aid her.
• On July 23 a burglary complain was filed at a Micha Circle location after a woman reported that someone had entered her apartment and removed a 36” Olevia brand flat screen television. Both doors were locked the woman said, and there was no sign of forced entry.
• On July 22 a simple assault complaint was filed at an Eatonton Highway truck stop after a man alleged that another man had pointed a pistol at the complainant. Reports state that two men, including the complainant in the truck stop allegedly made a sexual remark to a man’s girlfriend. The man overheard the remark and confronted the two men, reports state. When the man left the truck stop, he said the two men confronted him in the parking lot. The man said after he delivered drinks to his children in the vehicle he removed a .45 caliber pistol and held it to his side. The complainant said the man pointed the pistol at him and threatened him.

• On July 18 a larceny from auto complaint was filed at a Penor Street location after a man reported that someone entered his vehicle and removed a CD/radio player from the vehicle. The complainant reported that he had removed the battery earlier and could not lock the doors to the vehicle.
• On July 10 a larceny from building complaint was filed at a South Main Street location after a woman reported that someone had taken prescription medicine. The woman reported that the theft had been discovered when the establishment called in a refill prescription for Lortabs. The pharmacy reported that the prescription had been refilled just two days earlier and it was not time for a new refill. The woman investigated and found that someone had removed 21 Lortabs from a locked medicine push cart the facility uses to administer drugs to patients.

• On July 11 a larceny complaint was filed at a North Main Street location after a woman reported that someone removed her purse from her unsecured 1989 Volvo station wagon while it was parked at a convenience store.
The woman reported that the purse contained $1 in loose change, a personal photograph, a driver’s license, Social Security card, debit card, library card and tax refund card.
• On July 7 a counterfeiting complaint was filed at an Eatonton fast food restaurant after a woman reported that a female customer attempted to pay for a meal with a fake $50 bill. The complainant said that the holograph on the bill had Lincoln’s head instead of Grant’s.
The customer stayed at the location and told police she was not sure where she acquired the bill but believes it may have come from a bank in Conyers.
• On July 8 a burglary complaint was filed at an Eatonton Road business after a man reported that someone had entered his business by damaging the front door lock.
The man said that contents in the business were ransacked in an apparent search for cash and that no cash was found. The complainant said the perpetrators of the burglary left through the rear door.
• On July 8 Leon Lee Smith, 51, Madison was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication after he allegedly struck a woman in the face. Officers arrived to an Eatonton Road motel after the woman reported that Smith had struck her. The woman told officers that the argument was based on Smith’s dissatisfaction with the way the woman lived. Smith was located nearby and was arrested.
