• On Sept. 5 a dog bite complaint was filed at a Wagnon Mill Road, Bishop, location after a man reported that while his son was walking his dog on Wagnon Mill Road, another dog came out onto the road and bit the son. Reports state that the son told officers that the brown and white dog ran at him and when the son stomped his foot and yelled at the dog, the dog lunged at him and bit him on the left side of the torso. The dog's owner reportedly came to the complainant's house and offered concern for the son and told the complainant that the dog was up to date on all shots.
• On Sept. 5 a harassing phone call complaint was filed at a Centennial Road, Rutledge, location after a woman reported that her roommates former roommate had called and threatened to cut both her throat and her roommate's throat. Reports state that the call was in reference to the roommate having the power and water cut off at his previous residence. The roommate said that he had the utilities shut off because they were in his name. Officers spoke to the suspect who allegedly told them that if the roommate came near him or his family he would take that as a threat and would kill him.

Morgan County Grand Jury hands down indictments this month

Staff Reports

The Morgan County Grand Jury returned several indictments during the September term of the Morgan County Grand Jury. The following persons were indicted.

• Tyrone Grant, 37, Hampton, S.C. one count possession with intent to distribute cocaine, one count obstruction of an officer, one count tampering with evidence, one count fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, one count possession of marijuana.
• William Michael Konzny, 22, Lugoff, S.C. one count trafficking in marijuana.
• Montae Bernard Barrett, 31, Salley, S.C. one count trafficking in cocaine, one count possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
• Johnny M. Rawls, 32, Decatur, one count possession with intent to distribute marijuana, one count possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
• Edward Ricardo Shingler, 26, Bishopville, S.C., one count trafficking in cocaine, one count disorderly conduct, one count driving while license suspended.
• Fredrick L. Mullins, 54, Rutledge, one count terroristic threats and acts, one count public indecency.
• Johnny Melvin Greer, 38, Warrenton, one count aggravated assault, two counts family violence, battery, one count obstructing a person making a 911 call, two counts obstruction of an officer, one count giving false name to an officer, one count giving false date of birth to an officer.
• Quinton Andre Ross, 18, Madison, one count criminal damage to property in the second degree, two counts disorderly conduct.
• Pamela Denice Coleman, 54, Madison, one count possession of Hydrocodone, one count drug container violation.
• Christopher Gerald Silvey, 31, Greensboro, two counts burglary.
• Jamie Lynn Webb, no age, no address given, two counts burglary.

Law Enforcement • Traffic stop leads to drug warrant

• On July 22 Michael Edward McCullough, 23, Madison, was arrested and charged with firing a weapon in the city limits after officers were called to an Eatonton Road restaurant. Reports state that a man at the restaurant reported hearing three gun shots. Officers walked toward the direction of the gun shots and an officer heard a man pumping a shotgun. The officers walked down the driveway with weapons drawn and commanded the man to put the gun down. The man complied and the officers then placed McCullough under arrest.
• On July 22 a burglary complaint was filed at a Micha Way location after a woman reported that someone had kicked open a locked door and removed a 55-inch, flat screen television, a Playstation 3 game console, two joystick controllers and six Playstation games.
• On July 18 Dylan Michael Cordell, 19, Flowery Branch, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana after a vehicle in which Cordell was a passenger was stopped for driving 70 miles per hour in a 45-mile per hour zone on Georgia Highway 12. According to reports, after the stop the officer reported a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Consequent to the search the officer allegedly found a metal grinder under the passenger seat of the vehicle that contained suspected marijuana.
• On July 5 a damage to property complaint was filed at an Eatonton Road car lot after a man reported that someone had taken a spoiler from a 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
