Madison Police Department On February 11 Danny Lewis Scott, 54, Madison was arrested and charge with pedestrian under the influence of alcohol. According to reports, a woman at an East Jefferson Street resident reported that at 7 p.m. Scott came to her residence to deliver mail that had been mailed to his residence. The woman said that while he was leaving the mail he became belligerent and began cursing at her, her husband and the couple’s 7–year–old daughter. Madison Police Department On February 3 April Katrese Purkiss, 26, Madison was arrested and charged with theft by taking. According to reports, Purkiss was arrested after she allegedly told management at Rite Aid that she had taken more than $1,000 from the store by doing fraudulent returns. Purkiss and employee Lacy Cooper allegedly told officers that they had conducted fraudulent returns. Madison Police Department On January 27 Horace Jones, 37, Madison was arrested and charged with DUI, failure to maintain lane and violation of handicap parking. According to reports, Jones was stopped by a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office deputy at 1:40 p.m. at the Golden Pantry parking lot, North Main Street after he allegedly failed to maintain his lane while driving. According to reports, an employee at the Budget Inn told an officer that someone had started a fire in one of the rooms. Madison Police Department On January 5 a information report was filed at a Carmichael Drive residence. According to reports, a woman stated that a man inside the residence was unresponsive and may have overdosed on pills. An officer entered the residence and located the man lying on a couch. The man was unresponsive but breathing normally, reports state. The officer located an empty pill bottle on the floor beside the man. Madison Police Department On November 30 a loose and unattended animals complaint was filed at a Hodges Avenue residence. According to reports, a woman alleged that a neighbor’s Pit Bull had entered her property, climbed a dog fence and attacked her Pit Bull. Madison Police Department On October 31 an information report was filed near the Hammerhead Tattoo Parlor, Eatonton Road. According to reports, Madison Police Officer Elliot Kline reported that he received a call from dispatch regarding four black males in a white Mercury who were fleeing from Eatonton Police officers on U.S. 441 north at speeds of more than 110 mph. By Patrick Yost editor Madison Drug Store was burglarized in the early morning hours of Friday, October 7 and thousands of narcotics were removed. According to Madison Police Department reports, officers responded to a 2:10 a.m. alarm at Madison drug and when they arrived they observed that a front glass door had been shattered with a large rock.
