Don’t forget the chicken barbecue on July 4th at the Buckhead fire department. It will be a half chicken, slaw, bread, chips, tea and a dessert. It will be served from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be raffles and games for all plus live music. Tickets for the barbecue will be $8 each. There will be fireworks at dark. Y’all come!
I was sorry to see Imogene Martin’s death in the paper. I send my sympathy to the family.
When I was about 10 years old we lived near Imogene. I could go to see her. She had one child at the time. She was so sweet and kind to me. She was that type person to everyone.
When I went she often went to the kitchen and made some chocolate fudge. It was so good. This was in the early 40’s. Many people had it hard then but she always went right to the kitchen to cook something. I’ve always had a wonderful memory of her through the years. Her death came so close to her sister Mary Thrasher’s death.
I hope that each of you have a safe, but a fun-filled holiday season. The roads will be full. So please be careful!
