A Homegoing Celebration for Beatrice Clark Russell, 82, of Madison, will be held on Saturday, July 13 at 1 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 336 East Main St., Rutledge Pastor James A. Hawkins will be the eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Beatrice Malinda Clark Russell was born on Sept. 21, 1930 in Rutledge. She was the seventh child born to the late Charlie Clark, Sr. and Annie Kemp Clark. At an early age she joined the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Rutledge. She united in marriage to Johnny P. Russell, and to this union one child was born.
Beatrice was employed by Kessler’s Department Store in Atlanta. She later moved to Boston where she resided with family friends Linton and Pat Goss. During this time she was employed by the Beacon Hill Family. She had a special passion for assisting and caring for many families and their loved ones. Beatrice was a well-kept family lady snd enjoyed cooking and fishing. Her unique mothering and caring spirit is a legacy that will live on.
She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, LeAnn B. Clark; brothers, Charlie Clark, Jr., James Clark, Rev. Franklin D. Clark, Sr., Frederick Clark, and Bennie L. Clark; and sisters, Della M. Smith, Annie B. Warren, and Ruby L. Morgan.
She leaves to rejoice in her memory, one son, Landers E. (Vetertee) Clark; four grandchildren, Ernest L. (Shulando) Clark, Stephen (Cynthia) Clark, Landers E. (Chandra) Clark and Stephanie L. Clark; nine great-grandchildren, Chelesta Clark, Mona Clark, Shanee Clark, Ausslynn Clark, A’landria Clark, Asia Clark, Shaquona Clark, Sha’Mirria LaGuins and Emorion LaGuins; one great-great grandson, Jaylen Clark; brother, Alonzo (Mattie) Clark; sister in-law, Josephine Clark; two special great-nieces, Ashley M. Clark and Adrianne B. Clark; one special great-nephew, Arsenio D. Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
