Morgan County Master Gardeners “Plans Have Changed!” Our meeting will be at Crystal Organic Farms on August 5 at 5:30 p.m. The farm is located at 425 North Johnson St., Newborn, Ga. 30056. Crystal Organic Farms has been producing high quality organic food in Georgia for 15 years. The farmers are Nicolas Donck who was born in Belgium and moved to Newborn 15 years ago to this land when he was 16. He just recently became a dual citizen of Belgium and the United States. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in international business but quickly realized that his heart belonged to farming. Crystal Organic Farm was started initially as a garden by his mother Helen Dumba, who lives on the 175 acres where the farm resides. She is responsible for the farm’s flowers. Before moving here Helen pursued a career in organic gardening and naturopathy. She’s been helping people with her expertise in nutrition and alternative healing ever since. Nicolas and Helen were 2008’s Land Stewardship Award recipients at the Georgia Organic Conference. For more information, visit their website at
