Big news flash! I got my boot off today  (Monday) and it feels wonderful.  Doctor said it has healed and I will not have to have surgery. Ain’t God Good!

Yea, it’s good news for me and yet I think that I am so thankful that I didn’t break a hip, back, yes thank you Lord. We’ve had a wonderful week of revival, packed church about every night,  good singing,  preaching and good friends. Who could ask for more? Ralph Baker preached the Word and had a good response, plus the special singers were great, beginning on Monday night with The New Apostles; Tuesday night,  the choir from First Baptist of Youth; Wednesday night,  our own choir and specials;  Thursday night, Cornish Mountain Baptist Choir  and Friday night,  Phil and Cindy Reid from Jersey. Our thanks to each of these for such a great night. I’m already looking forward to next year.

Sunday, even with everyone being exhausted we still had a nice congregation. Several were away on vacation, family reunions and so many with serious illness. After our specials and the choir special, Butch preached from Psalm 46:1-11.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” This was the same scripture that Derek Jenkins preached on 9-11-01, when the World Trade Center was bombed. On Sunday night  Butch took scripture again from Psalm 8: 1-4 “why Christianity answers the question”. Christ is the answer.

Danny, Ginny, Caleb and Allison Bell,  Sarah Beals and Whitney Mealor have returned from a vacation trip to Daytona Beach. Ginny celebrated her birthday there and had a great time.

Most of the Lisa and William Stewart family were at Tybee Island over the weekend. Ramsey and Becky Simmons enjoyed a few days in Jekyll Island and enjoyed some good food.

Recently Cindy Morrow enjoyed a two week vacation. She spent several days with her cousin Sara in Newnan and then went on to Hampton and had a great time with her brother Jason and his family.

Most of you are aware that Joseph’s Coat has moved to a new location on Highway 83 near the Caring Place. Have you visited yet?  I’ve been told they have some great buys at this time and are open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. I’ve got to pay them a visit.

We were so sorry to hear a former member of our church went to be with her Lord this weekend. Mrs. Lorene Jordan  left behind her girls,  Janett, Robbie and Debbie and other members of her family. We send our love and sympathy to each family member at this sad time in their lives.

Also to the Howard Pickett family we send our sympathy. Mr. Pickett has sung at our church many, many times and he will be missed also, even though I did not know her, sympathy is sent to the Porter family and to Miss Tri Bee in the recent death of her sister.

Patsy Greene is home from the hospital, pray for her. Remember those I’ve recently listed.

A Stewart Family Reunion was held on Sunday at the Buckhead Fire Department. Ruby Guinn and Eddie and Ruby Stewart I know for sure were there to enjoy seeing family members.

Up at Nicholson Amphitheater Dillard Hudgins and Refuge will be with Clarke this Thursday the 8. Next Thursday night the 15, Morris Stancil will be the guest singer.

Last week when Curtis and Roxana were here visiting, we went down to the ABC Auction. Didn’t get to stay long as I had to get home and cook. Keith Arnold was there and did he have “food” specials, meats and fresh vegetables. Remember that name for the future. This Saturday Tommy Abernathy will be there at 6 p.m.  Come eat with Pat in the Snack Bar.

Belated wishes to Robin Guinn, don’t know how I missed her birthday. Happy birthday to Shelby Ann Smith on the 9. I think she will be a teenager at that time. Happy birthday to Lisa Stewart on the 14 and anniversary blessings to Lorri and Chris Stacy on the 14.

So until next week, may the Lord bless you real good.
