Writer apologizes for misunderstandings regarding Jackson Bailey’s legacy

Editor Letters to the Editor Leave a Comment

To the Editor:

I would like to express my regrets to the family of Jackson Bailey who have recently sent a Letter to the Editor. I was requested to write a piece on the artist for the Rutledge column and did this as a favor.

I took my information from the internet and from correspondence with Mrs. Beverly Bailey herself. I had limited information available to me and at the time I wrote the piece was living overseas. Futhermore, I would like to apologize to Mr. Bailey III for my misunderstanding the exact location of the Life of Christ painting. However, I would like to encourage readers to visit the correct location of the painting, which is located in Monroe, Ga., at the Life of Christ Museum, Inc.

Sincerely,

Joan Ekstrom
