The Morgan Community Theater (MCT) will be performing How I Became a Pirate on Aug. 29 and 30 at 7 p.m. at the Morgan County High School auditorium. All tickets will cost $5.

In How I Became a Pirate, Jeremy Jacob, a young man, runs in with a band of pirates while at the beach. Braid Beard, the leader of the pirates, takes Jeremy Jacob aboard his ship and explains to him the rules of being a pirate.

After learning what it takes to be a pirate – and teaching the pirates a little something as well – Jeremy Jacob is returned home to his family, but the pirates remind him that there are always pirates around during everyday life. All he has to do is contact them at the website: “Pirate Dot AARGH!”

The MCT put on two performances of How I Became a Pirate on June 22, performing before approximately 200 audience members per show.

The cast of How I Became a Pirate held dress rehearsals on Mon. and Tues. of this week in preparation for the performances to take place today, Aug. 29, and tomorrow, Aug. 30.
