Is it possible there’s just a little “nip” in the air, especially at night? Do you think we might have an early fall? Seems the last few years we’ve had nice weather on through October.

Sunday was nice and pleasant, and a great day to be in God’s house with a near full attendance. It was so good to see some of our sick back with us. Marion Beacham was able to be with us, also. He’s fighting that devil, the cancer. He said no chemo for him. Sandy Keheley is having problems; remember her when you pray.

We pray for Judy Cottrell, who is back in the hospital with a stroke. Judy, many prayers are going your way.

The choir sounded good as did the specials. Butch took his message from Romans 3: “How then shall we live?”

On Sunday night Jesse Busbee brought several passages from the Bible on recognizing false teachings, cults and religions; how to recognize and teach against untruth; and how to recognize guidance in the right direction.

We had a group of about 30 that enjoyed a trip to Six Flags on Saturday. Everyone I spoke to said they had a great time; even the smaller kids were not satisfied to ride the kiddie rides, they went to the “scary” rides and enjoyed it. Thanks to all that helped put this trip together for the enjoyment of our kids and youth.

James and I enjoyed going down to Oakley’s Gospel Barn Saturday night to hear The New Apostles, and I’ll mention again that we will be hosting this group this Saturday night, the 14, at 6 p.m. at Sugar Creek Baptist.

If you’ve not heard this group of young men, you will be blessed and in for a treat. Come enjoy our quarterly singing with us.

Enjoyed meeting up with Jane and Whitey Whitehead at the Blue Tent on Saturday night. I had not heard anything about Horace Reeves. She informed me that he was home. I pray his treatments will heal.

Up at Nicholson Amphitheater, God’s Grace from Dillard will be singing this Thursday night.

Dawn Walker visited with Betty and Cliff Walker over the weekend.

The “change buckets” are back in place to drop your extra money in that goes toward our building fund.

This coming Thursday, the 12th, the Cousins Reunion will meet at the Golden Corral in Snellville. Looking forward to this. Even heard that some of the next generation might be trying to get a group together.

Happy birthday to Bobby Allen on the 18.

There is not too much going on around here, therefore, not much news.

So until next week, may the Lord bless you real good.

Quarterly Singing September 14: The New Apostles will be in concert at Sugar Creek Baptist Church at 6 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Greensboro Highway (278) and Sugar Creek Church Road. The public is invited.
