Frank Cape, 76, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013.
A lifelong resident of Morgan County, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Cape and Gladys Gilbert Roland and was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Roland and Ricky Cape. Mr. Cape was a U.S. Army veteran and was also retired from Westinghouse.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Wilson Cape of Madison; children, Lafreda Whelan and husband, Joe of Elberton; William Kenneth Smith of Madison; Rhonda Felts and husband, Danny of Statham; Angie Iverster and husband, Joe of Jefferson and Edgar Franklin Cape Jr. of Madison; brothers, James Roland of Lincolnton and Billy Roland of Martinez; sister, Fayellen Trotter of Winterville; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 24th at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Buck Chandler officiating. Interment followed in the Winterville Cemetery, with military honors.
The family received friends 6-9 p.m., Monday, September 23rd at Bernstein.
Pallbearers were Kevin Felts, James Ahern, Ray Ahern, Jr, Eli Cape, Chuck Brown and Craig Brown.
