Fred Arnold, 87 of Madison, died September 23, 2013. He was a native of Kokomo, Indiana. He was born August 24, 1926 to Glenn and Kitty Belle Mayo Arnold. After high school he joined the United States Army serving in World War II and after the war as a military police. He later worked for the Chrysler Corporation as a machinist. He was married to Mildred McQuiston. They moved to Morgan County in 2006 to be near family.
Mr. Arnold is survived by his wife of 65 years Mildred Arnold and their daughter, Cheryl Scruggs; four grandchildren, Sheila Richburd, Sandra Scruggs, Stacy Long and Michael Scruggs; seven great grandchildren, Brad Long, Cody Ramey, Justin Jenkins, Jacob Jenkins, Kelley Ramey, Casey Long, Miki Ramey and three great-great grandchildren, Jacob Jenkins Jr., Briley Long and Alaina Jenkins.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 26 from 10-11 a.m. at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at the Long Family Cemetery.
