Obituary: Jackson Hamilton Boles

Jackson Hamilton Boles, 82 of Bostwick, died Tuesday, Oct.2, 2013. He was the son of Lonnie and Elizabeth Little Boles of Atlanta. He was born January 14, 1931. Mr. Boles was a veteran of the United States Army having served from 1948 – 1952. He later went to work for the John Harland Company as a graphics technician. He spent 25 years there before going to work for the University of Georgia as a printer.

He was married to Joanne Stowe who preceded him in death. He was a faithful member of Bostwick United Methodist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Boles enjoyed square dancing. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. Mr. Boles coached little league baseball and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a friend to many and will be missed by the Bostwick community.

Mr. Boles is survived by his two children Terry Boles and Jean of Montana and Joanna Timms and Terry of Bostwick; a grandson Derek McGuffy and Kether and two great grandsons Ian and Grant.

The family received friends on Friday from 6 to 8p.m. at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at Bostwick United Methodist Church. Interment followed at the Bostwick Cemetery. Rev. Doug Jordan officiated assisted by Rev. Dr. Jerry Meredith.
