William Larry Mauldin, 72, died Friday, October 4, 2013.
A native of Greensboro, he was the son of the William Earl and Lucia Camella Jackson Mauldin. He attended the University of Georgia and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he was Chairman of the Deacons. He retired from Oconee State Bank as the Compliance Officer and Vice President after 11 years and had worked for 36 years for Citizens Union Bank of Greensboro. Larry was the City Clerk of Woodville for more than 40 years, served as treasurer for the Salvation Army and held other leadership roles within the church and community.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, LaNelle Hester Mauldin; daughters: Sherri (Dean) Mauldin of Buckhead, Diana (Haywood) Mauldin Crumbley of Greshamville; sister: Peggy Mauldin Rhodes Edwards; and grandchildren: Chase Crumbley and Jill Crumbley.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Dr. Douglas Butts and Rev. Patrick Tice. Burial followed at Antioch Baptist Church, Stephens. Pallbearers were Ken Magnus, Steven Rogers, James Smith, Hollis Yearwood, Collin Cherry and Kerry McKinnon; honorary pallbearers were: Amery Harden, Jerry Wages, Richard Cook and Milton Meadows.
