Y’all come on in! We’re in the kitchen so take a seat and grab some of this fresh coffee! Momma’s cookin’ up a storm! There just ain’t nothin’ like Momma’s famous creamy, cheesy, garlic grits on a cool fall day! Mercy! As a matter of fact, the only thing better than grits is a big old SHOT GUN! That’s right y’all! Grits & Guns are the PERF combo if there ever was one! You’re darn shootin’! That’s why we all need to go to this year’s Madison-Morgan Cultural Center’s first Grits & Guns event at historic Burge Plantation Saturday, Oct. 19! Honey this “shoot ‘n eat” or I should say “eat n’ shoot” all starts at 8 a.m. for registration and breakfast followed by a clays tournament! Momma’s so excited ‘cause she’s gonna WIN! I mean she ain’t missed a squirrel this year! Y’all eat your grits and grab your gun and call706-342-4743 for more info!

Scoops is boomin’ y’all! Scoops has flat expanded taking over the space next door that was once occupied by Keller Williams! So Scoops owner Barry Weiner of Madison wants all y’all to come help him celebrate Thursday, Oct. 17 at a ribbon cuttin’ from 4 p.m. til 5 p.m.! Honey Barry has added a Party Room! Wow! I flat can’t wait to check it all out! Plus Scoops also has tons of new flavors! In fact, they now sell 44 delicious flavors of yummy, yummy ice cream! And, honey just don’t get me started on the delish selection of candies! Hey and did you know Scoops has delish smoothies and milkshakes? Well honey they do! Anyhow, Barry also wanted me to tell all y’all that Scoops has new Fall Hours: Monday through Thursday Noon until 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Sunday noon until 7 p.m.! There’s plenty of time to get Scooped! Oh and don’t forget you’ll get to see the brand new old-fashioned Scoops Ice Cream Truck at the ribbon cuttin’! I’ll see all y’all there at Scoops located at 123 West Washington Street in downtown Madison!

Hey! And speakin’ of fun, y’all don’t forget the Godfrey Community Park Annual Pork Barbecue & Stew event is slated for Saturday, Nov. 9! Tickets are only $9 at the park! This is some good, lip-smackin’ BBQ so plan to be there!

This just in. Kathi Russell is plannin’ on openin’ the Ye Olde Colonial Tea and Coffee Shoppe in the old Ye Olde Colonial at Main Street and East Washington Street in March of 2014! Keep watchin’ the Biz Buzz for more on this story!
