A Madison man was robbed at gunpoint at an Eatonton Road car wash Sunday night.

According to Madison Police Department reports, the man told officers that while he was at the Coach and Buggy Car Wash, a man dressed in black pants and wearing a black ski mask put a gun to the back of his neck while he was vacuuming his vehicle and demanded money.

The victim said he told the gunman that he did not have any money and the gunman ordered him to empty his pockets. The man said he gave the gunman approximately $12 and that the gunman then fled south on Eatonton Road. The victim said he last observed the gunman running behind the Auto Zone store on Eatonton Road.

The victim said he observed the gunman walking away and he called for help but got no response. The victim said he then drove to the Auto Zone store and asked employees there to call 911. The incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m.

Reports state that several Georgia State Patrol troopers and Madison officers searched the area behind the Auto Zone store but did not locate the gunman. The victim said the man was holding a black pistol with a long barrel during the robbery.
