Veteran’s Day – Celebrated as a national holiday, one day a year, in honor of our Veterans who have served to defend the rights and freedom of this country.  One day each year.  One day.  Is one day enough?  Whether it is or isn’t, we should take this day to thank our Veterans for their service.  The members of Centennial Baptist Church in Rutledge do just that.

The Sunday before Veteran’s Day, every year for the past 18 years, our church service is used to honor all Veterans in attendance.  This year we are honored to celebrate our Veterans on Sunday, Nov. 10, the day before Veteran’s Day.  Many Veterans have been coming every year from the surrounding communities to be recognized and honored.  The service begins promptly at 10:30, with our pastor welcoming all Veterans and their families. Our choir will honor them with special music, the Morgan County ROTC will then honor them with posting of the service flags and our guest speaker each year honors them with a special message.

We are honored to have as our guest speaker this year, Mr. Tommy Clack, Vietnam Purple Heart Veteran.  At the end of the service all veterans and their families will be served lunch in our fellowship hall.  Veterans, please plan to attend this service. Again, the date is Nov. 10, 2013 at Centennial Baptist Church. There will be people there to make you feel welcomed and honored. And again, thank you to all Veterans for serving your country!
