Attendance Sunday morning was good, some people were out because of sickness, our prayer is they will all be better soon and will be able to be back with us. We welcome our visitors praying they will always be blessed and receive encouragement from our service.

We are always blessed when they come. We invite anyone that does not have a regular church home to come be with us. Our hearts and doors are open to you anytime God leads you our way. The call to worship was, “Great Are You Lord.” Bro. Ron asked for announcements, gave the welcome and had the opening prayer. Then all men present that had served our country were recognized for their service.

As a church we salute all veterans of United States military services during this Veteran Day weekend and every day. We thank each and everyone for giving of their time, love and concern for others as they service God and country trying to keep us free. Thank you always! The choir special was, “I’ll Fly Away.” Special music was by James Butler, “Holy, Holy, Holy”. Bro. Ron’s message, “Spirit of Promise,” Ephesians 1: 13-14 and other verses.

We have many promises in the Bible, God is always faithful to His promises, we have assurance of this because of the Holy Spirit to the believer as a guarantee that He will do what He has promised. God expects us to be faithful to our promises. Jesus said, Come to me and I will save you if you believe. We have the promise of eternal security, Jesus said, I will never leave nor forsake thee, He promised us eternal life as our greatest inheritance this is secure to all believers only way to salvation. He redeemed us and we are God’s divine possession unto the praise of His glory, we can’t get away from the glory of God, God is real and bigger than any of our circumstances. Sunday night at 6 p.m. attendance was good in all groups.

Visitors were present so pleased to have them and hope they will come back anytime. Bro. Ron’s message, “Be Strong in the Lord,” Eph 6: 10-17 and other scriptures. We have all we need to stand against the wiles of the devil. The energy attacks us in heavenly places; we’re to take up the whole armor of God and walk in His strength because He is able to handle any situation. We can stand when we have gritted our loins with truth and put on the breastplate of righteousness, right living, we have to be prepared.

We have arrows thrown at us everyday, we have faith in God as our shield in Christ Jesus we have all we need to face the battle. We have the helmet of salvation and our sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Saturday afternoon we had a good turnout for the “Kuntry Fun Day.” Everyone attending seemed to have a good time, several visitors were with us, and glad to have them come. The Morgan County Baptist Association Senior Adult Banquet will be held Saturday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Apalachee Baptist Church.

Bring a covered filled dish. Thursday night a good attendance was present for the Associational Brotherhood meeting at Brownwood Baptist. Martha Barnes and Margie Ward were among those visiting with the family and friends of Holland Adams Monday night at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. Our Christian sympathy continues to be with his family during these days. Margie Ward visited Ernest Ward on his 100th birthday at his home Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 6th. Service

The gospel does not shrink our lives – it expands them.

A heart enlarged by sympathy never killed anyone. God does not comfort his people to make them comfortable

But to make them comforters.

Count your life by deeds – not years.

Pray until the tears come; work till the sweat comes; give till it hurts.

You will never become dizzy doing good turns.

Service can never become slavery to one who loves.

Forget yourself for others and others will not forget you.

True fame is founded in labors for the happiness of mankind.

Christians should be channels, not chalices.

The Lord is less concerned about those who make mistakes than he is about those who don’t try.

Some people cast a stale crust on the waters and expect chocolate cake in return.

The best way to forget your problems is to help someone else to solve his.

The Lord is more interested in people than in things.

Independence is not always a virtue.

It is not the hours you put in but what you put in the hours.

Our aim should be to serve not to be successful Life just gives you time and space – it’s up to you to fill it. He who cares will share. Service is love dressed in work clothes.

We are saved to serve; but we cannot serve to be saved.

Ability is wonderful but God is more interested in your availability.

A man’s reward is what he becomes – not what he gets. Have a blessed day!
