Reverend Robert James McAllister, 62, went to be with his heavenly Father on Tuesday November 12, 2013. Bob McAllister, loving husband and father, was born in Brazil, South America, to missionary parents, Douglas and Mary McAllister.  After graduating from Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham Ala., Bob answered God’s call  to serve in the Amazon basin, following in the footsteps of his mother and father and under the auspices of Crossworld USA, a worldwide mission.  There he met, fell in love with and married Grace Wanzeler, a Bible College student herself and together they have served the Lord by spreading His word abroad and in the US.   After their son Isaac was born, Bob returned to Madison where he had lived for a short while in his youth and he continued to serve God working with the Source of Light Mission Discipleship School working with Spanish and Portuguese correspondence. He was continually courageous and positive in any adversity and lived his faith by quiet example. He loved his family and called himself a ‘Brazil-nut’ as he was crazy about his birth country. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Douglas McAllister.   He is survived by his devoted wife, Grace Wanzeler McAllister and son, Isaac McAllister, and by his mother Mary McAllister, and by his five siblings and their families – brother Victor McAllister and his wife Nila; sister Helen McAllister Tews; sister Pat Desilet and her husband Randy; brother Charlie McAllister and his wife Bonnie; brother Paul McAllister and his wife Charli-Ann; and many nieces and nephews. Receiving of friends was held at A.E. Carter Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m., Friday, November 15.  The funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16 at 1 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church.  Serving as pallbearers were Andre Desilet, Doug Porter, Matthew McAllister, Michael McAllister, Nick McAllister, and Paul McAllister.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Bob McAllister to Crossworld USA for “Brazil Missions,” 10000 N Oak Trafficway, Kansas City MO
