The Madison-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 30th Annual Town and Country Holiday Tour of Homes this week, and, according to Chamber of Commerce President and Economic Development Director Bob Hughes, ticket pre-sales were still steadily coming in as of Tuesday.
“Ticket sales for this year’s Town and Country Holiday Tour are running as expected,” said Hughes. “Our pre-sales are over 1,650, and orders are still coming in.” “We anticipate over 2,000 visitors this year, and, given the weather, we are quite excited about that,” continued Hughes.
The sights and sites offered by Madison’s holiday tour appear to be more than enough to overcome the less-than-ideal weather in the forecast for this weekend. “We have fabulous homes that will be open this year,” said Hughes.
The times for the Thursday and Friday daytime tours will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and include homes and sites such as the Rose Cottage, the Rogers House, the Cultural Center, and the Rutledge Baptist Church.
The Friday and Saturday night candlelight tours last from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and cover the Horace Moore House, the Madison Baptist Church, and the Joshua Hill House, among others. The Saturday daytime tour runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the Sunday daytime tour runs from 1 p.m. to 5 pm., and both allow tourists to see a selection of homes including Bookhaven, Hilltop, the Mad House, and the Honeymoon house.
A complete list of the sites available for viewing during each tour can be found in the Morgan County Citizen’s tour supplement guide, which will be handed out at the event. Tickets for the tours will be on sale up until the tour dates and can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce. Pre-ordered tickets are $25 per tour, while tickets purchased on the day of the tour are $30.
