The Rotary Club of Morgan County presented the 32nd annual Madison Christmas Rush Classic this past Saturday, Dec. 14 in downtown Madison.

The rain and dreary weather may have forced a cancellation of the planned Christmas parade and caroling, but hundreds of icy runners lined up and down the streets of Madison to do their best in the 5K and 8K races.

Zach Massey of Buckhead posted a first place finish in the 5K with a time of 18:53.2, while Chris Carter from Snellville finished the 8K first with a time of 30:30.3.

Runners were divided among age group as well as sex and placed in their classifications accordingly. Despite the rain, the Rush Classic races had a good turnout, with a total of 149 runners competing in the 5K, and 79 runners taking part in the 8K
