Franklin Shaw “Bud” Bohannon, 91 of Rutledge, died January 2, 014. He was born April 10, 1922 in Jenkinsburg to Felton and Addie Tolleson Bohannon. He served in the United States Army in Japan and the Philippines. He was married to Betty Bond. They lived most of their adult life in Stone Mountain before retiring to Rutledge. Mr. Bohannon worked at the VA hospital. He was a member of Brownwood Baptist Church. Mr. Bohannon is survived by his wife Betty Bohannon and their children Felton “Butch” Bohannon and Marsha, Connie Jane Friar and Daniel, Wendy Gilbert and Tim and Kenneth Franklin Bohannon and Laura; one sister Sara Lula Cook and eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. The family received friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5 at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service was held in the chapel at 3 p.m. Interment followed at Brownwood Baptist Church Cemetery. A.E. Carter Funeral Home had care of arrangements.
