Diamonds and more diamonds? Check. Fabulous gown? Check! Chic-but-extremely- painful-pointy high heels? Check! Red Carpet? Double Check! Ding dang y’all! Lake Oconee Living’s Best of Lake Oconee gala last Saturday night was a resounding success!

We thank all of the many restaurants and caterers who donated delish food and all of our retailers and artists who donated items for the auctions! And, a big THANK YOU goes out to the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center for allowing us to host the event there!

Congratulations to each and every winner and to all of the second and third place winners! It was just perfect! Read all about this fab event in this week’s Citizen!

And, speakin’ of the red carpet honey we are all in for a big treat with the soon-to-open Ricky D’s – sure to deliver Madison’s most exciting experience! Yes! I mean how much better can it get? Great Food. Fantastic Cinema. Backstage Wine Bar!

That’s right y’all! I’m talkin’ all ‘bout Ricky D’s located right smack downtown in Madison across from the Morgan County Court House! Ok so here’s the update: the building is just about complete including a beautiful antique Honduran Mahogany wine bar! Gorgeous! Movie memorabilia creates a stylish décor and this is the first building in Madison to have 100 percent LED lighting! Wow!

Who has my shades? Anyhow, Ricky D’s and Retro Cinema is partnering with Emerging Pictures of New York so that we can see state-of-the-art current independent films from a variety of world renowned film festivals!

Talk about the red carpet! Right so owner and Madisonian Dana Kibbey says Ricky D’s openin’ date will soon be announced but a little bitty bird told the Biz Buzz that it must might open next month! What I love best is that the Backstage Wine Bar has a private entrance in the back so that I can meet up with clients who want to buy tons of ads in the Citizen and Lake Oconee Living magazine! Yes!

Oh and don’t forget Ricky D’s yummy food! They haven’t released the entire menu but I do know that they will serve up some fabulishous gourmet hotdogs and some rockin’ frozen custard! Oh and I almost forgot! Ricky D’s will show children’s matinees each week! What? I flat can’t wait! Y’all are just gonna have to keep readin’ the Buzz! The beautiful ladies over at Le Petit Jardin (located at 142 Academy Street in the Madison Markets campus) wanted me to tell all y’all about their newest team addition: Brett Walker Glenn! Brett has a degree from UGA in landscape architecture and a strong background in agriculture! Owner Debbie Accetturo says Brett brings talent and knowledge not only in design “but also in coordination that will help team take things to the next level.” Wow! Y’all pop over to Le Petit Jardin and see what’s happenin’!

Hey don’t forget the world famous comedy group Capitol Steps are in Madison at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center on Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m.! They are super, super fantastically funny! You will laugh your . . .well you know! Y’all call the Cultural Center at 706-342-4748 and buy some tickets with your handsome husband’s credit card! It’s that EASY! Yes! Hey and get more intel at!

Are those firecrackers I hear? NO! It’s the Beer Bottle Rockets! Shoot Fire y’all! Take cover at Perk Avenue Saturday, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m. Ding dang is right y’all! I have flat got to split this scene and get out and shop local! I’ll see all y’all next week! Same time. Same award-winnin’ newspaper!
