Margaret Lee Hallman, 97, of Madison died Thursday, January 23, 2014. She was surrounded by family when she passed.
Mrs. Hallman was born December 12, 1916 in Angelis, South Carolina to John and Mary Lillian Lee. She was married to the late Edgar Stephens Hallman. They spent most of their lives in Fort Valley. She was a homemaker.
She moved to Madison in 1990 to be near family.
Mrs. Hallman was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Madison. She enjoyed reading and playing bridge.
She liked to fish and also enjoyed knitting and sewing. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hallman is survived by her children Steve Hallman and Susan of Madison and Marnie Ann Jeffers and David of Salem, Oregon; grandchildren Matthew Hallman, Beth Herring, Aaron Jeffers and Fleming Jeffers; great grandchildren Hayes Hallman, Margaret Adair Hallman, Garner Drummond, Phelps Herring, Eames Jeffers and Ella Ann Jeffers.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28 at First United Methodist Church in Madison.
A graveside service followed at 3 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Fort Valley. A. E. Carter Funeral Home had care of arrangements.
