Ahoy y’all” is the welcoming call for the 4th annual Rutledge Downhome Soiree to benefit Rutledge Beautification. All of this year’s contributions will go toward curbing and landscaping the new park in the City of Rutledge. The Rutledge Beautification committee is comprised of eight local residents who have a passion for making this “Small but Special” town beautiful but the opportunity to be a part of this beautification is open to all who wish to be involved. The Bon Voyage Fun’ Raiser will set sail from the Caboose at 7p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. For your enjoyment there will be food, music, dancing, and games. Feast upon a cruise ship style smorgasbord buffet. Live music will be provided by artist April Allen, a local favorite. The attire for the evening is a tropical and nautical theme. There is the opportunity to become a “Friend of Rutledge” by way of a donation to the committee. Your contribution includes a position as a Cotton, Rooster, or Sunflower on the Wall of Honor on Fairplay Street. The cruise ticket price of $15 per person includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and libation. Reserve your place by calling 706-557-9020. Tickets can be purchased at LilyBeth’s or the Caboose. The Cruise Ship Director will be calling “ship ahoy” as we set sail promptly at 7p.m. Special thanks to Rosanna Lamb and Glenna Handley for organizing this great event. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community, meet and become acquainted with your neighbors, and get involved in Rutledge. Come join us for fun, food and music in the RTL.
