What a beautiful day…. and just a short week ago what did we have? Oh, Mother Nature, how you do tease. But yes, we do deserve some nice weather and I do pray that old groundhog was right.
He did not see his shadow. Sunday was nice. Just a light jacket and you are warm enough. Services were very good in our little church on Sunday.
The Spirit was present as Butch brought his sermon from Ezekiel 1. So many times we think God doesn’t hear our prayers. But He is our trustee, we seek him and He is my all in all.
We are not forsaken. Sunday night we enjoyed hearing Joe Reid from Hickory Grove Baptist Church as he brought his message from II Corinthians 4: 7-18.
Beginning this Wednesday night at 7p.m. Butch will be teaching on Witnessing. Seems there is so much sorrow. So many of our friends and loved ones are leaving us. It’s hard for me to realize that I am now of the older generation. Makes me sad at times but God has been so good to me.
I praise Him. We were sorry to hear that Patsy Greene’s cherished nephew died recently. We send our most sincere love and sympathy to her and the family.
Those in the hospital, nursing homes, home care, God take care of them. Be with Jessie and Lou, Patsy, O.L., Charles, Judy, Betty. Lord, there are so many of our loved ones sick. Too many to name. We’ve had bad ice storms. We even had an earthquake last week. What is next? Are the Scriptures being fulfilled. Think about this read your Bible.
I pulled in Terry and Jennifer Comans drive on Sunday as he was in the yard. Wanted to chat a minute and welcome them into the Swords neighborhood. They are liking this area so much with plans to retire here in a few years. I know that makes Papa Lou happy.
He already has Lisa and Tom close by. Tentatively we are planning for our Sanctuary dedication on April 13. It would feel so good to see some of our former members, and some of our members that have not been with us lately in attendance.
Put this date on your calendar. We would love to see you. Also, as I mentioned last week tickets are now available for our annual chicken barbecue on April 26 at Heritage Park. Tickets are $8 each and for that you will get half a chicken, chips, baked beans, slaw and bread.
Cakes will be available. You can purchase a ticket from any one at our church. I have some if any of my neighbors want some. This is for a good cause and I thank you in advance.
Several of our couples celebrated Valentine’s Day dinner standing in line for an hour or so. I hear most restaurants had lines with those waiting to be served.
Special birthday blessings to Alice Waddell today (Monday). For Eddie Stewart on the 23, Jordan Busbee the 24, O. L. Jordan and Justin Walker the 28. Blessings for Morris Stancil on the 26. Happy anniversary to my granddaughter, Susanne and Eric Bell on the 24. So until next week may the Lord bless you real good.
