On February 24 a harassing phone call complaint was filed at a Mission Road location. According to reports, a man said in April, 2013 he had befriended a woman on Facebook. Since then, the man said, he has given the woman approximately $2,600. The man said when he refused to give the woman more money, the woman began posting untrue allegations on his home page and on his fiance’s Facebook page. The man said the woman has also sent his fiancé text messages alleging that he and the woman have had a sexual relationship and that the man has given the woman sexually transmitted diseases.

On February 22 a robbery and cruelty toward children complaint was filed at the Relax Inn, Athens Highway. According to reports, a woman said she, her male friend and her 6-month-old child were at the motel after a man known to her had come to her residence earlier in the evening. The woman said she did not feel safe staying at her residence. The woman said at midnight the man knocked on the motel room door but was chased away by motel management. The woman said the man returned at 4:30 a.m. and gained entry into the room, fought with her and her male friend and then took a cell phone and baby bag and fled.

On February 21 a battery against person complaint was filed at a Sandy Creek Road location. According to reports, an 85-year-old woman alleged that after she asked her grandson to leave her residence and go home, the 17-year-old male punched her in the face. Reports state that the woman had obvious swelling and bruising on her face. Attempt to make contact with the male failed. The woman said she demanded that the male leave the residence because of his behavior.

On February 20 a theft by deception complaint was filed at a Weaver Jones Road location. According to reports, a man said that he had received a text message that his cell phone bill was due and that the bill was $2,400. The man said he had also began receiving calls from people who told him they were returning his call when, in fact, he had not called anyone.

On February 19 a theft by taking and criminal trespass complaint was filed at an Athens Highway location. According to reports, officers were called to the Relax Inn after a man reported that a former girlfriend had arrived at his room and physically confronted him and his current girlfriend. The man said the former girlfriend banged on the front door and window of the room claiming that she was pregnant by the complainant. The man said his current girlfriend made him open the door and when he did his former girlfriend struck him and his current girlfriend in the face. The man said he and his current girlfriend retreated to a bathroom and while in the bathroom the former girlfriend threw the man’s personal belongings around the room. The complainant said the former girlfriend also snatched $150 from his pocket and keyed the hood of his vehicle before she left.
