Senior Moments: March calendar is filling up with exciting trips and activities

It’s not too late to get in on the workshop, “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” that is hosted at our Center every Wednesday afternoon from 2:00p.m. until 3:30p.m.

There are six sessions, and those attending four of these get a certificate of completion.  We had a core group of eight at the first meeting, and the material just continues to be more supportive as the workshop gets to the meat of caregiving.

Please think about this opportunity if you are providing care for a loved one, friend, or neighbor.  Cost is FREE. A reminder that the AARP tax team will be here on Tuesday, March 11, to complete your state and federal income tax returns electronically.  Again, this is a FREE service to those who come.

The team will begin taking clients around 9:30a.m. and stay until everyone is served.  Don’t wait too late, however, or they may be packed and gone. We’re excited about our Morgan County High School agricultural students visiting us this Thursday, to discuss and exhibit floral designs.

They know (and we reinforce) that you’re never too old to learn, and this will be an exciting time for our participants.  Our March calendar is filling up with exciting trips and activities.

Please stop by for a copy, or call (706) 342-1614 for information about our trip to Hambricks in North Augusta, and to the Cherry Blossom Festival.

Both these trips are very popular and fun for our clients. Sadly, we report the loss of two more of our long time friends.  Mrs. Louise Hill was a dear friend on Hwy. 83 and she and her dog always met us at the door with smiles.

Lizzie Nell Stephens was a long time member who had difficulties in recent years with her health, but will long be remembered here.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to these families.
