Wow, March already this year is ticking right on by and this coming week end we set our clocks to Daylight Savings Time. I wish they would leave our time alone. Let us get use to one or the other, especially old folks like me don’t like the changes so much.
Oh, well. Today, Monday started out rainy but cleared up after just a little shower, now just partly cloudy out there. This has been a winter to remember. A nice crowd congregated on Sunday with visitors. “Where have all the good men gone?”
Title to Butch’s sermon taken from Micah 6:1-8. Sunday night he preached from Romans 10: 1-4 about the wrong kind of righteousness. Did you know there are those that live strictly, do not have a joyous heart. Full of self-righteousness? God wants us to enjoy our faith.
He wants us to have joy in our life as we live day by day. Miss Jordan Busbee celebrated her 21st birthday on Saturday night with the family at Cheese Cake Factory. Tara Elliott helped celebrate with her.
She said it was delicious, gotta try that. Betty and Jane were glad to have Dawn Walker down for the weekend. Betty appreciates any little thing that will help her with her care taking job. Please remember them when you pray.
Patsy Greene, Mary Beacham and Sandy Keheley enjoyed lunch recently at Cracker Barrel. Our ladies used to meet often for lunch together. We need to do that again.
A surprise birthday celebration was given for Johnny Bumgarner on Saturday, hosted by Tommy and Rhonda. A good crowd gathered to wish him happy birthday on his 80th birthday.
I’ll just mention our chicken barbecue to be held at Heritage Park on April 26th. A half chicken, chips, baked beans, slaw and bread for $8.00 and our barbecue is delicious. Also drinks and desserts will be available. Get your tickets soon.
Also, church dedication tentatively is set for April 13th. We would love to see all members, former members and visitors in our congregation making this special dedication very special. A very special birthday wish for my great grand daughter, Ariel Jordan Holmes. Ariel will be three on the 6th. Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead before you go to bed on Saturday night. So until next week may the Lord bless you real good.
