JV soccer ties Hart in first game of season

The MCHS JV Soccer team hit the field for the first time this week taking on Hart County. Morgan County took on Hart County Thursday Feb. 27. This year Morgan County only has a boys JV team. With seven minutes left in the first half Morgan and Hart were tied.

However, it was Hart that broke the tie with less than a minute left in the half. Hart lead Morgan 2-1 at the end of the first. During half time Coach Ian Palmer was able to encourage the boys to win more balls in the air. Palmer also told the defense to give Hart offenders more space in order to anticipate their quick attacks and thru balls.

Additionally, he wanted the guys to talk to each other more. In the second half the boys proved that they had listened to their coach. They won many balls in the air and maintained possession several times through out the second half. Coach Palmer said that he was proud of how the boy’s played aggressively and with intensity.

Their intensity in the second half led to another goal again tying Hart. Palmer noted that the team though young works well together and is capable of making very smart plays on offense and defense. Morgan County and Hart would go on to remained tied at the end of the game 2 -2. Ravi Patel scored in the first half assisted by Kyle Kreiman.

The score in the second half went to Alex Garcia assisted by Sam Kuperberg. This week the JV team faces Hart again on the road.
