Smith to play at Augusta National competition

Bailey Smith, a seventh-grader at Morgan County Middle School (MCMS), has been chosen to compete in the inaugural Drive, Chip & Putt Championship at the Augusta National Golf Club on Sunday, April 6.

The competition, which will take place the week before the 2014 Masters Tournament at Augusta National, will see 88 junior golfers going head to head in the driving, putting, and chipping contests.

Trophies for individual skills and overall champions among the four age groups will be awarded at the conclusion of the competition.

Founding partners of the Drive, Chip & Putt Championship include the United States Golf Association, the Masters Tournament, and the Professional Golfers’ Association of America. Congratulations to Bailey for earning this fantastic achievement, and best of luck at the competition.
