The Morgan County Takedown Club competed in two tournaments, held together at the “Battle in the Dome,” last weekend: the team Georgia Kids State Tournament and the Southeast High School Folkstyle Championship.

Tyler Snowden, Donovan McElligott, Zach Smith, and Garner Drummond in the Georgia Kids State Tournament, and wrestlers Smith and Drummond finished in the top-six for Morgan County.

MCHS wrestlers Jody McAlister, Jeremy Worth, and Demarius Robinson competed in the Southeast High School Folkstyle Championship. McAlister earned a second-place finish in the competition, and Jeremy Worth finished fifth.

“For us to have two out of three [wrestlers] medal is a very good showing,” said Morgan County Wrestling Coach John Robbins. Keep your eye on the Citizen for Morgan County wrestling updates as the program’s summer schedule begins to approach.
