The Morgan County High School (MCHS) Robotics Team is hosting its first annual cycling fundraiser, RoboRide 2014, on April 26, at 9a.m. It’s $40 ahead of time to sign up for the event. According to Robotics Team Press Release, the RoboRide 2014 fundraiser will be “a beautiful and challenging ride through Madison and Morgan County Georgia.

Enjoy a relaxed fully supported ride through one of Georgia’s most beautiful cycling destinations. Enjoy the quiet country roads that meander through the rolling hills of the rural Georgia. You will see plenty of farms as well as Historic Ante-Bellum, homes, plantation houses and estates. Proceeds from the ride benefit the Morgan County High School Robotics Team, a truly important program which helps to build the minds of tomorrow’s engineers and scientists.”

According to Sally Tuell, a mentor for the MCHS Robotics Team, the goal is to raise $5,000 in order to purchase the Robotics kit necessary for competition to get started for next year.

“We decided to have it on the same day as Madison Fest, in the morning. It won’t interfere at all, it will just give people an even bigger purpose to come to Madison,” said Tuell. The Robotics Team chose a cycling event not only because of Madison’s long-time appeal to cyclists on account of our ideal terrain and stunning landscapes, but to encourage a healthy way of life.

“We are hoping this will be an annual event.” said Tuell “We’re promoting not only the robotics team, but we are also promoting health and fitness. That’s going to be our theme,” explained Tuell. To register for RoboRide 2014, email: To find out more about the MCHS Robotics Team visit:
