The Morgan County High School (MCHS) track team began its 2014 season last Tuesday, March 4, with a meet at North Oconee High School. The boys’ and girls’ teams placed third and fourth, respectively, boasting two event winners, five runners up, and five third-place finishers. “I think that the track team is going to have a great season,” said MCHS Track Coach Dusty Sidwell. “We did very well in our opening meet with some kids going out for the first time and just getting use to the environment. They competed very well… so it’s looking good for the meets to come.”
Melvin Davis gave Morgan County its individual win in the boys’ triple jump event. The relay team of Zach Stone, Kingsley Sitzmann, Justice Chapman, and Jonathon Smith took first in the boys’ 4×400 meter relay.
