• BRAG Spring Tune-Up Ride For information, visit www.brag.org.

• Cruise-In & Car Show in downtown Madison, on West Jefferson Street from the City Park up to Main Street.  Fun for the whole family, with cars of all ages and makes expected from around the state.  Oldies music will be provided by DOC-103.  FREE to pedestrian traffic; Registration for show entries starts at 5:30 p.m., with 25 awards plus a Best-of-Show trophy to be presented, starting at 8:30 p.m.  Entry fee for each car/truck/motorcycle is only $15.00, payable at the registration table.  This show is hosted by The Country Road Cruisers car club of Morgan County, with all profits above show costs going to support local Morgan County charities and a scholarship fund for a graduating Morgan County High School student. Show time: 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Be there, or be square!

• Storytelling Festival at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center. For information, visit www.mmcc-arts.org or call 706-342-7557.

• Old Buckhead Days begins with the “Real” Buckhead 5k Road Race. Day of registration begins at 7:00 am and race will begin at 8:30 am. Participants can register online at www.active.com (be sure and type in The “Real” Buckhead Road Race) or you can call Robin Bone (706-474-8223) for registration forms. Entry fee through 3/26/14 is $20. After 3/26/14 and day of race entry fee will be $25. All proceeds will go toward improvements to Buckhead’s Townpark Playground. If you register day of race you are not guaranteed a t-shirt, so be sure and register early. Parade begins at 10:00 am. If you have a tractor and/or a classic car and/or a float and would like to join the parade, call Robin Bone (706-474-8223) for information. Local musicians will play from 11 am – 3 pm. The Buckhead Fire Department will be selling food and drinks as a fundraiser that will benefit the department. Other activities include: face painting, three-legged races, sack races egg races, hula hoop races and the skating rick will be open.

• FREE Easter Extravaganza at Madison Christian Church at 1871 Atlanta Highway from 6p.m. to 8p.m. which will include bounce house, food, face painting, chalk drawings, relay games, and photos with the Easter bunny! Bring your children, ages 2-10 with their own flashlight for a Glow-in-theDark egg hunt.

• Do Tell! Stories Under the Bell Tower, Storytelling Festival on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Nationally- known tellers Donald Davis and Barbara McBride-Smith, along with the KSU Tellers and grandmother/granddaughter team Esther Culver and BreAnn Culver, will perform and present workshops during the day.  The day begins with a Free Family Workshop for grandparents, parents, and children focusing on the art of storytelling and sharing life with each other and ends with a can’t-miss, side-splitting evening grand finale performance in the Center’s historic auditorium. This will be a day full of delightful, funny, and inspiring stories!  Make plans to attend this year’s Festival sponsored by the Law Firm of O. Elizabeth Bell and the Knox Foundation. • In-depth study of Christian fundamentals (faith, hope, and love) Sunday evenings from 5 to 6 pm at Madison Christian Church starting Sunday, March 16 led by Charlie Webster, director of New Century Ministries. The study will continue for 13 Sundays. For more information, call (706) 342-2250.

• The Classic City Band will present its Spring Concert on Sunday, April 6 at 7 pm at Cedar Shoals High School Auditorium. Musical selections include Concerto for Trumpet by Arutunian, featuring Bryan Agan, Symphony No. 2 by Howard Hanson, and American Overture for Band by Jenkins.  Admission is free. www.classiccityband.org

• Film Screening: The Retrieval, 7PM The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center will host the screening of The Retrieval, a feature-length film about a bounty hunter and a young boy’s journey during the Civil War. This screening of Chris Eska’s film is part of the South Arts Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers and the screening partner is the Morgan County African-American Museum.  Tickets will be available at the door: $5 MMCC Members, $7 Non-members, and $5 students.  Beer, wine, and soft drinks will be available for purchase, and popcorn will be free! • MAGQuest A photographic scavenger hunt through Madison history and culture. Sign up at the Madison Artists’ Guild Gallery at 217 W. Jefferson St. Registration will be at the Madison-Morgan Chamber of Commerce upstairs at 2:00pm. 3-5pm for the hunt. Judging, prizes and fun to follow at the Icehouse Underground. • Tile Works 10a.m.-12p.m. The Steffen Thomas Museum of Art presents their Steffen Thomas Tile Works Family workshop. Join us as we create some unique clay tiles inspired by Steffen Thomas art work. • Young Artist Passion Project New this year at Madison Fest the Morgan County African American Museum (MCAAM) and the Madison Artists Guild (MAG) will premier YAPP, the Young Artist Passion Project . YAPP at Madison Fest will provide a venue for young artists to display and sell their artwork. A silent auction will take place throughout the day with awards and auction winners announced at 3:00.  YAPP will also provide interactive art-making stations where visitors can experience art being made by local artists and try hands-on activities with a pottery wheel, a printmaking station, or a shaving cream painting station. Enjoy a gallery of juried student artwork and bid on quality art at reasonable prices to help us teach student about the making AND the business of art making.
