The Morgan County High School basketball program earned several distinctions from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in their 2014 All-State basketball teams. Morgan County junior Tookie Brown was named AAA Player of the Year, and Morgan County Head Boys Basketball Coach Charlemagne Gibbons was voted AAA Coach of the Year. Additionally, Morgan County senior C.J. Turman was named to the AAA All-State First Team. Sophomores Jailyn Ingram and Alexis Brown were given honorable mentions.

“I’m glad that our players and program are receiving state-wide attention from the different media outlets,” said Coach Gibbons. “These guys have work very hard to create these opportunities and it feel good to see them get recognized.”

“Being coach of the year really should be a team award because, without my assistant coaches who did a great job this season, none of this would happen,” continued Gibbons. “It been a great feeling for everyone involved player, coaches, parents and the fans.” Congratulations to the Hoop Dogs for continuing to receive recognition for this season’s accomplishments.
