The Morgan County High School varsity tennis teams faced stiff competition against the Hart County Bulldogs and the Buford Wolves last week. Hart County was able to overpower both Morgan County’s girls and boys, winning each match 4-1, and the Dogs then traveled to Buford where they were swept by the Wolves. Mason Devane and Katherine Rittenhouse earned Morgan County’s only wins against Hart County last Tuesday, March 25, at home.

Amelia Collier and the doubles team of Alex Ewing and Alex Malone put up a good fight against the Hart Bulldogs but ultimately lost their matches. Buford’s teams, who both made it to the quarterfinal round of the state playoffs last year in AAA, proved to be unbeatable at home last Thursday, March 27, when they swept the Net Dogs 0-5.

On Tuesday, April 1, the Dogs took on Eastside on the road and will play against Heritage High School at MCHS today, April 3, at 4:30 p.m. Next Monday, Morgan County will face Athens Academy at home for their last regular season game of the year before the regional playoffs begin on April 16. Come out to support your Net Dogs as they close in on the postseason.
