The MCMS soccer teams worked fast this week taking out both Cousins without having to play the whole game.

On Thursday April 3 the Bullpups took on Cousins at home. A game previously scheduled for Wednesday moved to allow the varsity teams to play one of their rescheduled games. Instead of starting at their usual time the game began at 5 p.m..

Although the late start didn’t have any effect on the middle school teams. The girls quickly took the lead, already beating Cousins 8 to 0 at the end of the first half. After a dominating first half the girls came back ready to finish Cousins off.

It only took them five minutes in the second half to beat Cousins 10 to 0 and ending the game in mercy rule. Scores for the Cousins game went to: Cat Usry, 3 goals, Mackensie Barrett, 3 goals, Landry Wood, Skylar Sewell, Morgan Walker, and Brooke Morrison.

The girls’ game was impressive for a number of reasons one being that they maintained possession for most of the game. The boys also easily beat Cousins on Thursday. The boys lead Cousins 5 to 0 at the end of the first half.

Much like the girls, the boys held possession most of the game not allowing Cousins much chance to score. The boys went on to beat Cousins 10 to 0. With seven minutes left in the second half the game was called on mercy rule. This week the Bullpups take on Putnam County and George Walton Academy.
