Tennis prepares for region tournaments

Last week, the Morgan County High School tennis teams took on Eastside High School on the road before taking on Heritage High School at home.

The Morgan County boys beat Eastside 3-2 during their match last Tuesday, April 1. Mason Devane and Chan Courchaine took singles wins for the Dogs and the doubles team of Garrett Gardner and Ben McMichael posted the team’s third victory.

The girls, however, lost to Eastside 1-4, with Caroline Jones earning the only win for Morgan County.

Morgan County took on Heritage at home on Thursday, April 3, with the boys losing to the Patriots 2-3 and the girls falling 1-4.

Garrett Gardner picked up a singles win and the doubles team of Matt Callaway and Ben McMichael also topped their Heritage opponents for Morgan County.

Caroline Jones again won the sole match for the Morgan County girls during the meet.

Next Wednesday and Thursday, April 16 and 17, the Morgan County High School tennis teams will compete in the 8-AAA region tournament.
