Varsity tennis prepares for region playoffs

This Wednesday, April 16, the Morgan County High School (MCHS) varsity tennis teams competed in the first round of the 8-AAA region tournament, which is taking place at Oconee County High School. Going into the region tournament, the Morgan County girls’ and boys’ tennis teams are ranked seventh and sixth, respectively, out of eight teams. On Wednesday, the Morgan County boys took on third-ranked Hart County at 12:30 p.m. at Oconee County.

Providing that the boys win their first-round match, they will play the winner of the Franklin County/Oconee County match today, April 17, at 11:30 a.m. at Oconee County. The Morgan County girls took on North Oconee Wednesday at 2 p.m. for a shot at the next round of the region playoffs. If the girls beat North Oconee, they will play the winner of the Franklin County/Hart County match today at 9:30 a.m. Check out next week’s edition for the MCHS tennis teams’ results at the region tournament.
