MCHS holds annual soccer banquet

A season of hard work calminated in a celebration as the MCHS soccer teams gathered for their end of the year banquet. On Wednesday May 14 the Morgan County Varsity soccer teams came together to celebrate a year of achievements. The evening began at six and was catered by Ricardo’s. The banquet featured a number of different awards. “Banquets are always fun because it’s a time set aside to recognize all the good things that happened over an entire season,” said girl’s coach Anne Stamps. All of the students were given their certificates of participation.

For the girls three awards were given. Captain’s awards for the girls went to Anna Bryant, Susanna Peppers and Anslyn Stamps. Coach’s award for the girl’s team was given to Madison Evans. Two players were named to the 8AAA All Region Team- Susanna Peppers and Anslyn Stamps. For the players the end of the year banquet is a time for the students to dress up and reminisce about the season. The boys were also honored at the banquet. Two awards were given for the boy’s team- Coach’s award went to Jonathan Camacho. Captain’s award went to Matt Cantero.
