Jamond Sims, head coach of the AAAAAA Luella High School Lions, is in line to become the head coach for the Morgan County High School boys’ basketball team next season. Morgan County School Charter Superintendent Dr. Ralph Bennett intends to recommend Sims to be hired as a teacher in the Morgan County School System and basketball coach for MCHS for the 2014-2015 school year. “I am very excited to be able to bring a Morgan County guy and his family back home,” said MCHS Athletic Director Steve Cission about Sims.

Cisson added that he is happy to be in a position to be able to recommend Sims, since he has known Sims since he was a child and knows both Sims’ parents and his wife’s parents. “Jamond has shown the ability to run a very successful teacher, coach, and mentor to young people,” continued Cisson. “I feel confident that he will maintain the level of success that has been established in our basketball program.” Last year, Sims led Luella to a 20-9 overall season, remaining 12-1 in the AAAAAA region.
