Sunday night we had beautiful showers. Not too heavy to damage our tender plants and so refreshing. This morning (Monday, Memorial Day) the sun is glorifying everything here at my house. Thank you Lord for Showers of Blessing.
Sunday morning, even with several out of town, we had a beautiful crowd and a beautiful touching service. The choir special was “America” and what a great place to live. Just pray we can continue to say this in the future. Butch took his message from John 4: 20-24, A Call to Worship. It is our command to worship God. True worship is critically advocated on the knowledge of God. Worship means bowing down with total contemplation .
The Holy Spirit stirs our hearts and leads us to be saved. We owe God our worship time. We worship Him in spirit and in truth. He paved the way by shedding His Blood. His love is perfect – unconditional. Word has gotten around that a thief invaded Martha Bailey’s yard early Sunday morning but on my, the treasure was the beautiful flowers that graced our church that morning. Martha, we will turn that thief over to you if you promise to let her in your flower garden again.
Harleigh Wilson and Alyssa Waddell are enjoying a week at camp. Sandy, Stephanie, Lily and Noah had a great time in the Helen area recently. And it’s so good to have Becky Simmons back from a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. I know that was a joy to the heart. Now Becky and Ramsey are spending a few days at Myrtle Beach with Ramsey’s brothers, bringing back the time when these brothers all spent time together fishing and having fun.
The Jackson and Busbee families had a full week of graduation festivities with both Jared and Cameron graduating and I hear there are more activities planned for them. Little Miss Tessa Watson had a birthday on the 16 and celebrated with a party for family and friends on Saturday. Belated birthday wishes to Tessa. Patsy Greene was having a fairly good day recently and decided to give Betty Walker a visit. They had lunch and a nice time together. I send my sympathy and love to Ruth Easters and Pat Wood in the recent death of their brother.
Our Memorial Day weekend has been kind of quiet for a change. No family down to enjoy the water and picnicking. Susanne and Eric have bought a new house and all are working on the one they plan to rent. I am so happy for them. All Jill’s family have had a wonderful week together in Destin. Even the girls went deep sea fishing and caught some beautiful fish. Jill caught the smallest, a 35-pounder. Umnn…. hope they will save some for me. While there Leah celebrated her birthday. What a way to celebrate.
With the sound of birds singing in the background, a beautiful wooded area, it was the perfect place for Caleb Bell and Sarah Beals to exchange wedding vows. This took place on Saturday afternoon at the Corry House at Union Point with many of their friends and family witnessing the ceremony. Caleb is the son of Danny and Ginny Bell and Wendy and David Moss. Sarah is the daughter of Doug and Audrey Beals. Caleb is the grandson of Jackie Bell and the late James Bell and the grandson of Marlene Severson. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Gene Brown. Sarah’s Maid of Honor was Priscilla Holland. Best Man was the groom’s father, Danny Bell. After the ceremony the reception was held in the Red Barn with delicious food. Congratulations to Caleb and Sarah as you begin your life together and may God always remain with you as the two of you go forth with your education at The University of Mobile. Caleb is a member of our church and our former song director. Our church was well represented at the joyous occasion.
Our One Day Bible School will be held on Saturday June 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday the 7 over at the Oakley Gospel Barn on Harmony Road, “The Relations” gospel singers will be there. I understand they are from the Athens area.

I pray each of you had a safe and fun Memorial Day. And I hope you remembered why we celebrate this day. God bless all our Veterans and our Military. So until next week may the Lord bless you real good.
