Rec department holds Morgan County Classic Tennis Tournament

The Morgan County Recreation Department held the Morgan County Classic Tennis Tournament last Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, at the Morgan County tennis courts. Susan Courchaine and Kim Rudolph took the women’s A-division championship, while Jill Cooper and Katherine Cooper were runners up on the women’s division. Albert Laing and Lin Logan were the men’s A-division champions, while Jefferson Bautista and Jeff Bautista took the B-division championship. Neal Dabbs and Jeremy Cash, and Lamar Moss and Les Conway took the runner-up position in the A-division and B-division, respectively. This week, the recreation department has been holding a summer half-day tennis camp, coached by Katherine Rittenhouse and Caroline Jones.

Rittenhouse and Jones will also be holding hour-long, evening tennis camps for youth ages during the weeks of June 16-20 and July 21-25. Those camps will cost $48 per week. More details can be found at the recreation department’s website, mcplayrec.org.
