Today was a good day for a Buice Cousin’s Reunion in Snellville.   As most families these first cousins are gradually fading away. We had 16 first and second cousins to meet today for a day of love, memories, so much. Plus we had two additional to meet with us from another “leg” of our family. We surely enjoyed Maron and his son Ron Buice  from the Buford area. The first cousins who were with us were Betty Buice Glazener,  Larry Webb, Buddy Hix and James Buice.   Plus others with us Pam Webb, Maudie Buice,  Johnny and Lavada Buice,  Terry and Elaine Buice, Mark Glazener, Paul Pittard and Renae Mitchem. Thank you to each of you for making this a successful meeting.  A great time and good food. Sunday was a great day to welcome Butch and his family back from vacation. A couple of specials and the choir specials, then Butch read scripture from Psalm 117. Titled, “Recognition where it belongs”. Many times as we go through life we need to take inventory of ourselves. This psalmist  is  looking at his past.  Some privileges we have  as a child of God:  We can freely worship God and meditate.  We can glorify and magnify Him.

We can rest on the Divine insurance. There is no competition with God.  The character of God cannot be corrupted nor can it change. On Sunday night Butch read from Acts 2: 43-47 before going into our Conference. We welcome into our church family Leigh Sears. Leigh has been one of us so long everyone thought she was a member. We promise her our love and prayers as we did with her son Chase who was recently baptized.   We have so many not doing too well….just received the word tonight that Betty McDaniel has been admitted to Athens Regional Hospital. Our cousins, Gordon Pittard is in a rehab hospital, his wife Louise is in Gwinnett Medical.   Jessie Comans is in Madison Nursing Home while Lou struggles at home. Betty King had a stroke last week. So many of our church family are having problems. Lord, you know about each of them.

At this time Ruby Stewart has so much sickness in her family. I think she has two sisters and a brother that are not doing well. Please remember our prayer list when you pray and remember our Military and our Country. Patsy Greene and some of her family have returned from a cruise to Cancun. Butch, Cindy, Jared, Kayla, Mary Beacham and Randy Jackson and his wife had great fun and relaxation on their cruise. I think they are all ready for another one. Please keep in mind that our Bible School is this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. We tried this one day event last year and it worked really good for us.

Maudie Buice visited with us recently. Then she rode with us to the cousins’ get-to-gether today. Remember this Sunday night, Fifth Sunday The New Apostles will be in concert at Sewell Methodist Church. Gerald Sweatman will be at  Lone Oak. I know there are other activities for Fifth Sunday night but I have not been notified. I will be singing for both services at Beacon Heights Baptist on July 13th.  Happy birthday  to Chelsea Bell ont he 27th, Randy Bell the 29th anniversary blessings go out to Jerry and Judy Cottrell also on the 29th. And to my grandson, Susanne’s husband, Eric Bell will celebrate this Saturday and can you believe that July is almost here. That’s my birthday month and I celebrate all month!!!! You can do that when you get old. Shannon Busbee will celebrate on the 3rd. Ruby and Eddie Stewart will have an anniversary on the 1st.  So until next week may the Lord bless you real good.
