By Margie Ward:
On Sunday morning attendance was good, with visitors present. We had some members and visitors out today for various reasons, we are praying that all will be back soon. Bro Ron welcomed everyone and had morning announcements. Deacon of the week, Joe brown, opened service with prayer. special Music was “The Mercy Tree”by Peggy Harper. Bro Ron’s messed “Keep Your Eyes On Jesus” Hebrews 12:13. We have a race to run, those christian men & women gone on before us ran their race and finished the course. Our spiritual life in Christ grows with faith. With christians, life is not always easy, things will happen while we run the race, that will be a hinderance to us along the way. Paul suffered a lot for the Lord, but he kept his eyes on Jesus, he forgot those things behind and went forward and had joy on the inside. Jesus can and will do the same for us, if we keep our eyes on Him. We can’t run the race without faith, we trust God to take care of whatever gets between us and Him. We take our eyes off things that distract us from Jesus. He is our savior and deliver leader, author and finisher of our faith, we can follow His example. It is joy set before Him, for a sinner to repent. He is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Jesus is Christ the Son of God and can do miracles. After the morning service, a covered dish meal was held in the Family Life Center in honor of Bro Ron, Denise, Johnathan and Jessica Swan. They have been with us nine years as Pastor today, Sunday September 28 was their last day with us. We wish them God’s blessings as they start their ministry in another Church. We all know God closes one door He opens another one. We pray for them and we at Brownwood ask you all to pray for us as we seek God’s guidance as we search for the person He has for our church. On Sunday night at 6 p.m. a good attendance was present. Vernon Mullins brought the message “Kingdom of God, Holy Spirit” John 3:1-7, John 14:12 – 18, Ephil 1:11-14 and many more scriptures. the holy Spirit has to move on a mans heart. The Holy Spirit strengthens, encourages, is a comforter, helper, teacher and counselor. The Holy Spirit has sealed us, always busy working in us. the kingdom of God’s messages Redeemer & Delivery Spirit of Truth reveals who we are, all authority belongs to God. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, and is our guide that leads us to Jesus.
