The turnip patch was hit last week for about 14 families and if the weather holds this week, we will make another trip for fresh turnip salad and mustard greens. These fresh vegetables are healthy, and can’t be better than when they go from field to sink to pot. We’re planning a ceramic buying trip this week to get more greenware for our craft sale coming up in November. We like to provide a variety of items, and the greenware suppliers are ready to meet the need. We will be bringing more news on this in a later column. Our last fishing trip for this season will be Friday the 17th, so better call now for reservations for that. We had a great time last month, and you don’t have to fish to come. Several folks come and enjoy fresh air and our picnic lunch. We have had two donations to our home delivered meal program that was very timely and welcome. If you ‘d like to support this program, please consider making a tax-deductible gift towards keeping our homebound population in their homes. Federal funding has been decreased for these programs, so we are very appreciative to receive support to offset the cuts from our community.
