Willie Thomas Clower was arrested at his Holland Springs Road residence at approximately 8:15 p.m. after deputies responded to a report of a person being shot. They also observed a 52–year–old man limping away from the residence. The 52–year–old man said he had been shot near the shin area. Clower allegedly told deputies that the victim had been “talking (expletive)” to him and he went into his bedroom, retrieved the gun and shot him. Deputies said in their reports that both men had been drinking on the porch and appeared intoxicate. Clower later told deputies that after he retrieved the gun he “went outside and shot beside (the victim).” “I didn’t try to shoot him. If I wanted to kill him I would have shot him in the chest.
