The Morgan County High School (MCHS) Volleyball team beat Loganville 25-23 and 25-22 in the October 30th match in Loganville, but lost to Prince Avenue 5-22 and 22-25. “We certainly didn’t play our best Volleyball Tuesday night,” said Coach Greg Thompson. “Loganville is a team that we should handle a lot easier that what the score showed, and our first set against Prince Avenue was as bad as I’ve seen us play.” He went on to say that, despite the loss and previous performance, the team was able to pull together for the second set against Prince Ave. and only lose by 3. “Prince has a great team and we took a set from them earlier this year,” said Thompson. “I was hoping to do it again, but we just weren’t playing at their level.” Thursday, the team celebrated Senior Night by taking victories from Hart, 25-13 and 25-11, and Monroe, 25-11 and 25-18. “We had a great night Wednesday honoring all of our Senior Players,” said Coach Thompson. “They have all been a huge part of the program’s success over the last four years and they will be greatly missed.” All of the seniors played together for both matches Thursday, making it a very special occasion for the girls. This match marked the last regular season game for the seniors on their home court. Having finished in 2nd place during the regular season, the team is looking forward to hosting the first round of the region tournament on Thursday October 9th. Coach Thompson said that he hopes to have a big turnout in the gym to support the girls as they begin region play.
